3-16-22 THOUGHTS
1Pet 1:22-23 Since you have in obedience to the truth purified your souls for a sincere love of the brethren, fervently love one another from the heart, 23 for you have been born again not of seed which is perishable but imperishable, that is, through the living and enduring word of God.
We consider the last verses of the 119th Psalm this morning. The whole of the chapter exalts God’s WORD in the life of men. I think sometimes we fail to see the VITAL CONNECTION between GOD’S WORD IN OUR SOULS and our BEING A CHRISTIAN! God’s mind is to be in my mind, and it doesn’t get there without My DESIRE and MY EFFORT! This ought to be a pleasurable process that brings rejoicing. If it isn’t, where are we? God’s Spirit has revealed God’s mind in His Word. We must choose God’s word and mind! BE ABSORBED in GOD!
1Pet 2:2 like newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow in respect to salvation,
Ps 119:161-176 Shin. Princes persecute me without cause, But my heart stands in awe of Your words. 162 I rejoice at Your word, As one who finds great spoil. 163 I hate and despise falsehood, But I love Your law. 164 Seven times a day I praise You, Because of Your righteous ordinances. 165 Those who love Your law have great peace, And nothing causes them to stumble. 166 I hope for Your salvation, O LORD, And do Your commandments. 167 My soul keeps Your testimonies, And I love them exceedingly. 168 I keep Your precepts and Your testimonies, For all my ways are before You. 169 Tav. Let my cry come before You, O LORD; Give me understanding according to Your word. 170 Let my supplication come before You; Deliver me according to Your word. 171 Let my lips utter praise, For You teach me Your statutes. 172 Let my tongue sing of Your word, For all Your commandments are righteousness. 173 Let Your hand be ready to help me, For I have chosen Your precepts. 174 I long for Your salvation, O LORD, And Your law is my delight. 175 Let my soul live that it may praise You, And let Your ordinances help me. 176 I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek Your servant, For I do not forget Your commandments.
Isa 55:11 So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth; It will not return to Me empty, Without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding [in the matter] for which I sent it.
1Thes 2:13 For this reason we also constantly thank God that when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you accepted [it] not [as] the word of men, but [for] what it really is, the word of God, which also performs its work in you who believe.
My Prayer:
We want your mind in us, O Lord. Thank you for giving us your word so that we can know your mind and your intentions for us. Give us zeal and a desire to pursue You Father. Remove our lethargy and help us to focus on things above, not on earthly stuff. Help us to walk in the Spirit and in the Light. Grow us unto salvation and help us to bring others with us. Make us serious about heaven and being with You forever. In the precious name of Christ, Amen.
